Hongkong
Hong Kong has an iconic skyline with the most skyscrapers over 80 meters tall in the entire world. 1300 are over 100 meters tall, while at least 315 are over 150 meters tall.
Hong Kong has fantastic, authentic Chinese food. And if you get homesick, many chefs worldwide open restaurants here.

Locals can also dine on authentic French, Japanese, American, and Italian food in the Soho district of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is ranked number 5 in the world with 71 Michelin-starred restaurants. My top pick is the IFC Observation Deck, which is part of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority Museum. The IFC Observation Deck is not the highest spot in Hong Kong, but it’s entirely free, and you can also learn about Hong Kong’s financial development.
While many tourists focus on the main Hong Kong skyline, I prefer the Kowloon side because I can view the newly built Chinese Opera Museum along with classical architecture, like the bell tower from Hong Kong’s oldest train terminal.

If you’re interested in a more touristy recommendation, I recommend taking a trip to Sky100. Located on the top 100 floors of the International Commerce Center, it’s the tallest observation center in Hong Kong. On a clear day, you can see the Hong Kong Exhibition Center, which looks like a turtle. There are also designs by famous architects, such as the Bank of China tower, which was designed by Mr. Pei, the same architect who designed the glass pyramid for the Louvre in Paris.
While many people recommend the Peak, located at the top of Victoria Mountain, it regularly gets overwhelmed with tourists. As such, I don’t recommend visiting, but if you decide to go, weekdays before 4 pm are the least crowded.
Wan Chai is a metropolitan area situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island.
If you use Helppo to start up a Chinese-friendly tutoring website, you could easily end up with several remote students from Hong Kong! Meeting them in person, at a co-working space, or at a coffee shop is great as it will allow you to bond as you hang out and have fun together.
